Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. As an Osteopath we believe for the body to work well its structure must also work well.

When you visit us for the first time, an assessment will cover the symptoms felt at the time and a background on general health will cover all areas of the body and check the individual is safe to treat.

A physical examination will be performed including simple movements and orthopedic and neurological examination where needed. We may feel for areas of pain, weakness, restriction or strain. With this we can determine a diagnosis and if Osteopathy is the appropriate treatment for you, a treatment plan can then be discussed, explained and started with consent.

This can include Osteopathic techniques, joint manipulations, gentle articulation as well as stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, relieve muscular tension and therefore enhance blood and nerve supply to tissues and help the body's own healing mechanisms.

I work with you to find what you are comfortable with and want to achieve out of treatment as well as advising you on exercises to aid recovery and posture and prevent symptoms reoccurring.
